It says something that there has not been another significant book written about TH Hicks in over a hundred years. If you are studying the Civil War in the border states this is an excellent resource. Most researchers reference this work. This is a digital facsimile re-print that is very readable unlike the superfine print books common of the era. The language is simple and easy to read unlike much history written at the turn of the 20th Century. Although many of the events discussed in the book are covered in some fashion other places, this is the only source that concentrates solely on the governor. Radcliffe made extensive use of Maryland official records and correspondence.Product details
