I must say that I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It contains much more information than the title leads one to believe. This realization came to me once I reached the 2nd chapter in the book titled 'Sustainability'. This chapter provides detailed resource on green products from windows to paints to cabinetry and mattresses. There is discussions on water conservation and eco-friendly decorating. It even goes as far as to provide the 5 super-ornamental plants that scored high in Univ of Georgia study on removing contaminants from the air. The 3rd chapter in the book titled 'Spirit' provides some pretty detailed information on Feng Shui, Vastu, Wabi-Sabi etc... The chapters on style, substance, renovate and decorate were something I would expect to find in a book like and the information provided in those chapters is quite informative. The case studies are excellent and the author even provides a kitchen design checklist (something I plan to use when I renovate). The author is clearly knowledgeable and did their research. I loved the way the information is laid out and the pictures in the book are beautiful. I enjoyed this book so much that I've ordered 2 more by the same author (Staged to Sell and Money-wise Makeovers).Product details

The Happy Home Project A Practical Guide to Adding Style and Substance to Your Home eBook Jean Nayar Reviews
I love this book
Lovely book with a lot of good information for people who don't know anything about basic design concepts. My only complaint, as is my complaint with nearly every other design book, is that the pictures don't resemble an average home. They are mostly very expensive homes, with beautiful lighting, floors, and are very spacious. I would love it if someone wrote a book for people with tiny, dark homes who don't have a lot of money or resources to make it look as best as possible.
